Leica Laser Tracker

The Leica Laser Tracker, a product of Leica Geosystems, is a portable coordinate measurement system or CMM, this technology has been available and improved upon since 1991. The Leica can gather 3 dimensional coordinates by following a small mirrored sphere in a myriad of applications. When a laser tracker is combined with coordinate measurement software the end user has the ability to collect, organize, and manipulate data as well as import or export coordinate measurement data. With over 17 years of experience and having delivered 2000 units to customers around the world the Leica laser tracker is turning large-scale metrology into an integral part of industrial processes. The Leica boasts a fast warm-up time, thermal stability, and robustness that is second to none. With robust construction and superior thermal stability the Leica can maintain continuous on-spec operation in tough industrial environments with no need for frequent compensation routines. The Leica also utilizes the capabilities of both an absolute distance meter (ADM) and an interferometer (IFM). Here at SPA we have found the Leica to be an invaluable part of our laser tracker technology. The Leica is ideal in a situation where it can be established in one position and moved a minimum.
