The ability to combine the laser tracker in measurement technology with our experience in turbine alignment is the basis of our state-of-the-art process. What we have created is an innovative alignment technique that can complete a tops-on or tops-off 18 station inspection of a 3 bearing gas turbine, in a mere 3 hours. This alignment process is exclusive to Schaeffer Precision Alignment, Inc., it was custom engineered, rigorously tested, and proven successful.
The implementation of this process will expedite the overall inspection time and alignment process; it also eliminates human error in measurement data and reduces the impact of thermal movement on the alignment process. However, our inspection capabilities are not limited to gas turbines; we also have the ability to perform a complete inspection on steam and hydro turbines. Proven Alignment Technology
All previous alignment methods, including bore scope alignment only provide data of the center point locations. Our innovative process completely eliminates the ‘optical bore alignment method.’ The inspection process is designed to provide you with superior measurement data, including: the bore center location, concentricity, radial distances, and axial distances. With the laser tracker you gain assurance of a more thorough inspection and generous amounts of measurement data.
